Someone should make a list of these and hold the public costs up against his many claimed ‘savings’.

One more legal defeat for IDS and his campaign to keep as much secret about his welfare reforms as possible from the public. The reason he gave for withholding the names of the workfare exploiters from the public was quite simple: he was afraid that if their identities were known, they’d suffer, and so his precious policy would not be implemented. This isn’t an adequate reason for not telling the public, who the companies exploiting the unemployed are. Not that I expect this latest legal defeat to be an obstacle to RTU. He seems determined to carry on appealing adverse decisions against him for as long as possible, either in the hope that eventually he’ll win, or his opponents will get exhausted and go away.

As Bill says this is public money that is being used for these schemes, so the public (that’s you and me folks) should know how and by whom this money is being used.

I want to know who uses workfare, an up to date list they cannot deny. I can then withdraw my custom and tell them why.

Shouldn’t IDS be sanctioned as a punishment for breaking the rules?
